How is Green Up Day Organized?

Green Up Day is held across Vermont and wouldn't happen without the dedicated help of our coordinators. Each town has a coordinator that volunteers can contact to get their Green Up bags.

Number of volunteers in 2021: 21,000+ volunteers

Number of Green Up Day bags distributed: 56,000+ bags

Number of tons of trash collected in 2021: 420 tons

Number of tires collected in 2021: 16,000+ tires

Number of town roads miles to be cleaned on Green Up day: 13,087 miles (not including Interstates), 76% of all Vermont roads

Number of towns that have reported illegal dumpsites: 70
