What is an
EV? EV, which stands for Electric Vehicle,
are vehicles propelled purely by electricity.
Electric vehicles have a variety of advantages compared to gas-powered vehicles. For starters, they have fewer moving parts and don't have classic gas powertrain. This results in less servicing. Beyond this, EVs can save you a great deal of money (compared to gas-powered vehicles), thanks to the savings associated charging your vehicle with electricity.
Charging Options
The Subaru Solterra comes standard with a Level I charging cable, which you can plug directly into a regular wall outlet at home. We recommend upgrading to a Level II charger for faster speeds to make recharging easier and more manageable.

Level I charging is possible at home by plugging into a regular 120-volt wall outlet. It can take up to 24 hours to reach 80 percent charge, but the Solterra is rated for 228 miles of range, which should last the average driver a few days. Charging up to 100% every night is not recommended because charging cycles degrade the battery. In general, you should keep your Subaru Solterra between 30- and 80-percent capacity.
A Level II charger allows you to recharge faster with a 240-volt plug, like an electric clothes dryer. Simply plug in and charge. No internet connection or software required. Amperage can be adjusted to 24A, 32A, 40A or 48A. The perfect charging solution for indoor or outdoor use. White River Subaru can help you arrange for a professional installation to cut the charging speeds to about nine hours for an 80-percent charge.
Public Charging stations offer varying recharging speeds for EVs of all brands, including DC fast-charging, the fastest available speeds. For longer treks, a public fast charging station can replenish the Solterra's battery in less than an hour.

Green Mountain Power EV Benefits & Incentives
Green Mountain Power offers a host of benefits, including rebates and incentives. Rebates vary, with pure EVs getting up to $2,200 for a new vehicle and $1,500 for a used EV. Charging incentives are available via Green Mountain Power, with discounted off-peak rates available for compatible chargers. Green Mountain Power also offers free level 2 chargers with an EV purchase.
