Subaru Wilderness Models
Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness

The Wilderness gets the Crosstrek's upgraded 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. It also adds a transmission oil cooler, more than doubling its max tow rating to 3,500 pounds. The reinforced roof rails have a 700-pound stationary load limit, making them great for a rooftop tent.
Other appealing amenities include an 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and heating for the front seats, windshield, and side mirrors.
Subaru Forester Wilderness
If you're seeking something roomier than a subcompact while retaining a convenient physical footprint, the Subaru Forester has you covered. This compact crossover offers ample passenger space, with 27 cubic feet to spare for cargo behind the rear seats (max: 69.1 cubic feet).
The Forester Wilderness has similar features to the Crosstrek Wilderness. However, its raised roof rails have an 800-pound static load limit. It also adds a 180-degree Front-View Monitor for enhanced visibility when traversing trails.
Subaru Outback Wilderness
The Subaru Outback was a major component of Subaru's evolution into the adventurous brand it is today. The Wilderness trim marks the Outback's most significant evolution since it separated from the Legacy wagon into its own model. The Subaru Outback Wilderness includes all of the previously mentioned features, plus a heated steering wheel and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. It also boasts the tallest ground clearance (9.5 inches) and the most performance. Outback Wilderness models are propelled by a turbocharged 2.4-liter BOXER® engine that makes 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
A midsize crossover with wagon roots, the Subaru Outback combines the roominess and practicality of a utility vehicle with the comfort and drivability of its long-roofed predecessor. It offers generous passenger accommodations and a flexible cargo area with 32.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 75.6 behind the first.
